Educate your staff, communicate with them, follow rules/regulations, and help promote workplace safety.
According to the International Labor Organization, there are, on average, 340 million workplace accidents and 160 million cases of work-related illnesses each year. From hazardous materials and heavy machinery to the ages of employees and the pandemic, there are many looming threats. Therefore, places of work must take every step to encourage safety and wellness.
Step 1 - Education
All brands – in all industries and locations – should provide teams with necessary safety information. This includes everything from going over emergency procedures on the first day to providing training throughout the year.
Step 2 - Communication
Another effective way to reach this goal is to prioritize communication. On one hand, managers, bosses, and owners should regularly discuss safety and wellness with employees. In return, team members should voice any/all concerns, in order to fix problems and help prevent accidents and injuries.
Step 3 - Regulations
There are also rules and expectations in place within buildings, at the local/state level, from OSHA, and beyond. It is important to stay compliant with these guidelines – covering everything from sanitation and ventilation to safety exits and first aid. 
Step 4 - Promotions
A wise strategy that encourages workplace safety is the use of safety awards, safety gifts, and safety incentives. Those who put prevention first may be recognized with a custom trophy, employees who finish training may be gifted snack sets, and team members who need a little push may be incentivized with branded apparel, logo drinkware, custom-printed earbuds, and beyond.
By following these steps, your company/organization can do its part to help put an end to illnesses and injuries in the office, on job sites, and at all places of work.
