All places of business can put these plans and tools in place, in order to help keep teams safe.
Every seven seconds, a worker is injured on the job. And while every workplace is different, each of them must keep safety in mind.
Below, there are five tips that all offices, businesses and organizations can implement, in order to promote well-being. Additionally, there are suggested tools that can be given out to employees, as well as to clients, fans, customers and followers, to spread the message of safety even more.
ONE: Educate
As soon as someone is hired, they need to learn all of the guidelines, rules, expectations and regulations. This includes safety measures and routines, like what to do if there is a fire or an active shooter.
This information should also be posted around the workplace and given to everyone, in a print and/or digital format, making it easy to find, check and remember.
Pro Tip: Give new hires welcome kits that include this info, bags (to carry/store all their belongings) and pad-and-pen sets (to keep notes and write down reminders).
TWO: Secure
While this will vary from place to place, make sure security is up to standard in every way possible. The locks on doors and windows, where/how any possible harmful chemicals are stored, the process for handling sensitive information, who all has keys to the building… These things and beyond must be in tip-top shape.
Pro Tip: Lanyards are also nice gifts for teams, giving them a place to keep their keys, name badges and/or access cards.
THREE: Lights
To take security a step further, make sure all areas are well-lit; from where work is conducted to the stairwells, parking garages and alleys, ample lighting can make a huge difference, when it comes to safety.
Pro Tip: A popular promotional product is an imprinted flashlight, which comes in handy on the job, when the electricity goes out, at night and so forth.
FOUR: Prevent
A top way to try and keep everyone safe at work is to try and prevent accidents and injuries from occurring, and a wise way to do this is with safety programs and incentives.
Most people respond well to being rewarded for good behavior. Therefore, when an employee changes a lightbulb, stops a fall from happening, notices that a door handle is broken… Give this person a gift!
FIVE: Equip
Finally, be sure to equip everyone with the safety gear they need, and make sure it’s high-quality, logo-boasting gear such as these pocket knives, face masks and power banks!
